My first video post! Hopefully it works this time…apologies to all received the abortive first attempt.
This is is one of my favorite drills on the muk jong. Since this video was created, I have had the opportunity to use this in sparring. It works! The key it to make the follow-up as quickly as possible. Do not allow your opponenet the time to recover.
Properly done, this can be a devastating short-range technique both for attack and defense. Used offensively, it can give you the jump on your opponent. Used defensively, it can get you out of a jam and turn the tide of a fight.
I developed this technique while training with my Muay Thai friends. Do not be afraid to train outside your chosen discipline. Never think you have all the answers. This video shows why I always say, “Be eclectic in your learning and syncretic in your practice.”
Thanks, T.G.!
